The new version of the avast review window is fresh and clean, with sections devoted to every tool in the suite. However, the huge amount of white space has meant that some features are hidden; the homepage offers you quick shortcuts to run scans or turn on the VPN, for example and there are links to a few not-very-useful tools for optimizing your system however, the majority of the features are hidden in the Explore tab. The installation process is simple and smooth and you’re not pressured into a subscription upgrade, although the initial scan will identify “advanced issues” that can only be addressed with a premium subscription. This is a serious issue which Which? mentioned in its report on 2020.
